A modest gem of a book. The author speaks from a place of expertise, sensitivity and wisdom equally in the realms of ballet, creative expression, early childhood development and teaching. She utilizes theory and practical experience to offer advice on teaching the classical traditions of ballet in a way which works for both the 3-4 year old pre-ballet age group and the 5-6 year old first ballet class. This book helped me acquiesce to a position I suddenly found myself in teaching to this demographic and on short notice. It does assume the reader has previous knowledge of ballet terms and their definitions, as well as how to dance ballet.
