Sculptor Dessa Kirk (statue pictured above). When I first saw her work, I was so fascinated by it that I took photo after photo…indeed, I spent the entire day (and several others) taking pictures of her work in Chicago. It’s rare for me to be struck by art as completely as I was by these sculptures. They really moved me. They still do.

Dr. Linda Hamilton. I remember Dr. Hamilton’s column in Dance Magazine from when I was a child. She has since gone on to write books for dancers and work with NYCB as their wellness consultant.

Dancer, Painter

Dancer/Painter Rick Hilsabeck. Rick was my jazz teacher when I was a teenager taking classes at Lou Conte Dance Studio. He helped bring me out of my shell and realize that there were other ways to move besides ballet. He has also taken his considerable artistic talent and applied it to painting.
